Dusk to Dusk

Driving through the countryside at dusk really makes living in the middle of nowhere feel worthwhile. The shadows stretch long and dramatic, while the sunlight turns golden and casts an ethereal glow on everything it touches. Mundane fields and fences turn beautiful with a soft Midas touch and even the cows are lent a spot of glamour in this light. While shifting speed limits, sharp turns, and tailgating vehicles make me a nervous driver, it all somehow just feels like a roller coaster ride and butterflies in the stomach are a sensation to be savored, not feared.
