The True Genius

While Sex and the City is a bit out-dated by now, flipping through blogs online I still find many girls celebrating the wonderful style exhibited on the show. But please, let us give credit where credit is due, Carrie Bradshaw is not a style icon and neither is Sarah Jessica Parker by default--the genius behind that marvelous styling that we should be recognizing is costume designer Patricia Fields. Sarah Jessica Parker did not invent any of those outfits, Carrie Bradshaw is a fictional character and her clothes (as well as those of the rest of the cast) can be attributed properly to Patricia Fields. Please let us recognize a genius at work and not get caught up in celebrity face and name value. P.S. I love how her boutique matches her and her style so perfectly.
