The illustrations of Julie Morstad run the gamut from surreal and mildly disturbing, to sweet and endearing, all done in a signature style of flat, clean lines. She's created a couple of beautiful illustrated books that I would mightily like to get my hands on. Her style definitely suits the book layout as I am dying for a peek inside her head to know what tales dreamed up these drawings.
