Papillon

Butterflies pressed between panes of glass always make me rather sad, yet their beauty captivates the eye. These detailed illustrations of butterflies from by the French designer and author E.A. Seguy were created in the mid 1920s and are nearly as lovely as the real thing. I enjoy how accurate the illustrations are (the artist drew 81 distinct, real butterflies) and placed them in interesting compositions.
