Modern Elizabethan

The D&G Fall 2009 collection reminded me of two things: Dolce and Gabbana Spring 2008 and the Elizabethan era.
The rich fabrics and exaggerated shapes are exactly what I imagine a young, hip Queen Elizabeth I wearing (if she was alive today). The whole collection was very romantic and luxurious.
Ironically, I find the Dolce and Gabbana Spring 2008 collection a little more young and modern. I still have visions of wearing brocade skirts and paint-splattered tees...
