I'm quite thrilled that horse prints are becoming more popular since I would like to collect all things featuring equine. These socks were on sale at UO and a natural addition to my wardrobe.

Never Mind Faded Forests
As you might have noticed, the forests around me are anything but faded. I find no need to adjust the colors in my images to make things seem brighter or greener; our excessive rainfall leaves the region lush and vibrant. In fact, these pictures were snapped in a brief sunbreak between storms. I feel quite surrounded by green: books on green things, green packages, dresses, trees, and even the flora we clip and arrange around our house in pretty vases...

The Private Life Of Personal Style Bloggers
When I first started writing my blog I didn't really discuss what I was wearing (when I actually posted outfits); I figured the pictures would do the talking for me and used my words to muse on other subjects. However, as my blog popularity has grown I feel less comfortable discussing personal topics here. Believe it or not, I would prefer to not bare my soul to an Internet full of strangers! I also don't think it is right to compromise the privacy of my friends or family who have chosen not to have blogs. Fairly often I appear to live in total isolation, but while I am not a very social girl there are people I interact with in real life! There are dramas and stories to tell about their lives that overlap and affect my own, but is it really my place to discuss my part in them if it leads to compromising another's privacy? I think not and since I have total control over what is revealed and hidden on this blog there is a quite a lot that goes unsaid. So, until I find more interesting and non-invasive things to write about you might be left with musings on my outfits, complaints about the weather, and anecdotes about my lack of grace...
This is probably the only dress in my closet that is this beige/nude color; it's the sort of color I worry will wash me out. However, this dress has been getting a lot of wear, so perhaps I should rethink my usual palette?
I always feel a bit odd sharing the interviews people do of me, but since I love to support the really sweet people who ask to interview me I thought I'd share a couple of recent ones.
Nasha doesn't get enough little posts centering on her, so she was thrilled to be surrounded by pretty packages of Orbit gum and flowers from the garden. As you can see, many things in this world revolve around Nasha.
To Venerate The Simple Days
"To venerate the simple days
Which lead the seasons by,
Needs but to remember
That from you or me
They may take the trifle
Termed mortality!" -Emily Dickinson

Flashback Friday Part V
*I am not accepting Flashback Friday submissions right now; I have too many to handle! I will let you all know when I am accepting again.
Studded With Stars Unutterly Bright
I've succumbed to the lure of all-black outfits lately. There's a certain charm about the style that I quite enjoy and when you mix in a some heavy hardware I feel quite dramatic...almost theatrical, but in a good way. Resistance was futile when it came to pairing my studded handbag with my studded shoes; they just had to make an appearance together at least once. This ended up being the perfect outfit for an evening out at a dueling piano bar.
Where Summer Strives
This editorial for Vogue Germany channelled Brigette Bardot style perfectly. In fact, these shots could well have been stills from my favorite Bardot film: Le Mepris...only perhaps the lovely model Susan Eldridge looks much more happy than Bardot did in that film.
