an opposites party. the boys have to dress as girls, and the girls as boys.

Where does it take place?
hogwarts.
What are you serving?
lots and lots of cake. no meat or else morrissey would get mad. cookies, pie, and there would be a chocolate fountain to dip the cookies and pie in. parties aren't fun with healthy food.
Who gets to sit next to you?
alexa would sit next to me. i would ply her with copious amounts of alcohol and convince her to give me all of her clothes.
What is the theme?
well everyone's dressed as the opposite gender. ian curtis is looking especially cute in a vintage dress and t-bars. alexa grew a moustache especially. jack bauer refused to dress up.
Is there a special play list or entertainment?
cheesy 80's tunes, of course. we'd play scrabble, but only with rude words.
What are the hot topics of the evening?
everyone's talking about middle-eastern politics and lindsey lohan. and what morrissey was doing in the toilet all that time...
Who is the most likely to get drunk and dance on the table?
let's be honest, it's barack. a guy has to let off steam somehow, i bet it's tough being the leader of the free world.

One of my favorite blogs to read lately is Tick Tock Vintage. The lady behind the blog, Veronika is seriously stylish with rad color-mixing skills and an eye for amazing vintage pieces. She graciously took aside some time to do an interview for me and so I had her plan her dream dinner party complete with eclectic guest list and a delectable menu.

My boyfriend, close friends, Woody Allen and Mia Farrow, Sean Connery, Peggy Moffit, William Claxton, Juliette Greco, Serge Gainsbourg, Jane Birkin, Sylvie Vartan, Donovan, Cher, Marc Jacobs, Irina Lazareanu, Susie Bubble, Tavi Gevinson, anyone wearing a 60s mini dress and last but not least That Girl!

Where does it take place?
On Jupiter but of course.

What are you serving?
Chocolate Martinis, multicolored Macaroons and Sparkling pink lemonade
Who would get to sit next to you?
This is a hard one, I would have to say my boyfriend because hes just the best and no one can be better than him.

What is the theme?
These boots were made for walking.
Is there a special play list or entertainment?
There is entertainment, he is actually one of the guests, Serge Gainsbourg singing and playing on a white piano.
Are there any party favors?
Colored socks for the men and pretty shoes by Marc Jacobs for the ladies.

Who is the Dear Creatures girl?
BIANCA: It’s for the modern girl who appreciates a simple, feminine, and polished look.
ROB: Someone who enjoys a good hunt in a vintage or thrift store and mixes her finds with new pieces in her wardrobe.
Your designs are inspired by decades past, what is your favorite decade and why?
BIANCA: Rob and I have always been inspired by different design aspects particularly from the 60’s era. People at that time were experimenting not only in fashion but music, architecture, textiles, furniture, film, and artwork. It’s all very inspiring to us.
What are your favorite films or books for inspiration?
ROB: We seem to pull inspiration from many different places. I have a thing for going to estate sales on the weekends and finding old books and magazines. One magazine I’ve been collecting for a long time is “Avant Garde” which was only in circulation for a few years, during the late 60’s and early 70’s.
BIANCA: As for films, we did one season based on The Umbrellas of Cherbourg with Catherine Denueve. Actresses with gamine looks like Jean Seberg in Breathless and Audrey Hepburn in Funny Face. And of course we love nautical inspired looks like Anna Karina in The Magus and Une Femme es Une Femme.
What are you excited to wear this winter?
BIANCA: I’m excited to wear capes and my new leather tassle loafers

So, what is Of A Kind?
CLAIRE: Of a Kind is a website that supports and promotes emerging fashion designers. We commission designers we love to create limited-edition pieces ("editions") that are sold exclusively on our site, we and tell the designers’ stories through a series of articles. We work so closely with the designers through the process that we end up feeling really personally attached to both them and their products. Everything that’s for sale on our site is produced in a limited quantity and was created especially for us—once it's gone, it's gone.
What is one designer you would really love to work with for Of A Kind?
ERICA: We have a very long wish list at this point. We love Kelly Bergin, an L.A. designer who makes really low-maintenance but polished pieces—Claire and I actually both own the same dress from her last collection in different colors. Right now, we’re focusing on American designers, but down the road, we’d love to get some Australians and New Zealanders into the mix. Some of the lines we’re especially jazzed about: Deadly Ponies, We Are Handsome, Shakuachi, Rittenhouse, Maniamania.
Where do you see Of A Kind in one year?
CLAIRE: Our hope is that being featured on Of a Kind will be considered a mark of future success for a designer. We want to join the ranks of Michelle Obama, the CFDA, and Opening Ceremony in identifying and supporting the next big names to watch. From the very beginning, one of our primary goals has been to act as a support system to the emerging design community.
I really enjoy the interviews you post with the new collections. How important is the story behind the pieces to you?
ERICA: Telling the story behind the designers and the pieces they create for us is really integral to what we’re doing. You can purchase things to wear anywhere. We want people to connect with designers and feel like they are purchasing something that comes from somewhere and has meaning.
We spend a significant amount of time with the designers that we feature, and the more we learn about them—their quirky hobbies, who they admire, their tastes—the more excited we get about sharing these different facets of their lives with readers who are really interested in discovering new talents and knowing what's going on behind the scenes.
Do you get to keep one item from every collection for yourself?
CLAIRE: We keep a sample of each piece we commission and so we "borrow" those to wear. We're nuts for everything that we sell on the site, and all of the pieces end up feeling really personal to us, so we find ourselves wearing them a lot. Plus, it gives the people we interact with a chance to see the pieces up close. Hopefully it's effective marketing in addition to being a perk of the job.
Can you give us a hint or sneak peek of what's to come?
ERICA: From December 8 until the end of the year, all of the limited-edition pieces we’re releasing are priced under $100. So, um, holiday presents! Each item comes with a certificate of authenticity that’s signed and dated by the designer behind it—which we think will make you look like a really thoughtful, on-the-ball gift-giver. Also, we’re delving into apparel come January—exciting, right?

I've been thinking lately about the need to invest in cute lingerie and one of the first lines that came to mind was Loulou Loves You. While I was in London I was lucky enough to meet-up with the stylish and uber cool Loulou. In addition to her silky undies Loulou also sells gorgeous flower crowns and sweet feathered and beribboned collars. I'm a big fan of everything she designs and she was kind enough to let me interview her.
Who is the Loulou girl?
Ethereal, fearless, fun, a dreamer, people who haven't locked away their magic, modern day superheroes, but most importantly anyone and everyone; if you like it you should have it.
How would you describe the aesthetic of Loulou Loves You?
Dreamy, flirty, romantic, sexy, luxurious and downright heartbreaking.
If you could choose anyone to wear your designs, who would it be?
Sleeping beauty, Alice (in Wonderland), Mary Poppins, Katy Perry, Karen Elson, Sailor Moon.
What kind of mood/space do you like to create when designing?
I usually watch movies when I'm designing, I like to create a comforting space for work, so sometimes it just involves a background noise of some sort...I like to have a lot around me so my studio and my bedroom are filled with all sorts of everything, I always have these ideas of living a minimalist lifestyle but who am I kidding...I have drawings, notes, books, jewellery, photographs and nonsense scattered everywhere. My studio currently looks like an enchanted lingerie forest.
So, how important is it to have good undies?
Well, VERY. I think it's one of those things where you just can't help but feel better about yourself when you know you're wearing good knickers. I just love that you can be wearing anything under your clothes and no one knows unless you choose to show them, there are no restrictions there, your lingerie uniform can be what you want it to be. I really like dressing for an occasion and I think lingerie really follows that. I have something for every mood I'm in.
Really though like everything in life you just want to feel like the best version of yourself, so whatever makes you you.
Who are some of your favorite designers?
If I had the money I would dress head to toe in Dolce and Gabanna, a little Moschino with a touch of MiuMiu, Prada and Louis Vuitton.
A label I love is called Vivetta, her pieces are amazing and very Loulou in their aesthetic, lots of bows and cute collars and have the 'adult who hadn't quite grown up' romantic beauty about them, Lauren Moffatt, Sretsis and then my super friends Eric Saeter and Jessica De Lotz for jewellery
Can you give us a hint about what's up your sleeve for your next collection?
I'm moving on from what Disney heroines wear underneath their clothes to what Superheroes wear underneath their clothes so maybe a little less romantic and a little more dark.
I've also just started a course in holistic massage and some courses at the Psychic college...and so I'm also rather busy working hard on my own superpowers ;)

If there's one blogger who works the cute and adorable style with great aplomb it is Lydia of Style Is Style. Lydia rocks mixed prints, fantastic accessories from hats to brightly colored heels, and trends like anorak jackets with ease and her signature big smile. Perhaps it is that bold, happy expression that gives all of her outfits a sweet finish. Since I enjoy Lydia's style and blog so much it was a natural progression that I interview her and learn what her dream party would be like...
What type of party is it?
An all night dance party!
Who's invited?
Some 1950's teddy girls, my favourite bloggers, Queen Elizabeth I, James Dean, Leith Clark (editor in chief of Lula Magazine), Florence Welch and La Roux.
Where does it take place?
In an abandoned English manor, thanks to Queen E's connections! There is a lake in the front, and the guests are milling about by the water while Noisettes get the party started with a live concert.
What are you serving?
Pastel cupcakes and the most delicious assortment of chocolates... Anything sweet and gourmet! There is a fountain pouring nothing but pink champagne, with lovely mismatched tea cups to sip it from. If you ask the waiters (who look smashing with sky high pompadours), they'll bring you a French 76.
Who gets to sit next to you?
Florence Welch and Leith Clark are sitting beside me, mostly because Florence left her side of the table to come talk to Leith. We are geeking out about great vintage, hidden gems at thrift stores, dresses vs. pants, the latest issue of Lula, and Florence's general ethereal wonder woman-ness.
What is the theme?
It's a costume ball, and every one is dressed up in a Marie Antoinette inspired outfit. A lot of pastels, and pieces from the last Luella collection are popping up in everyone's outfits. La Roux's is rocking a cotton candy page-boy look (her hair even has a peach streak!), and Queen Elizabeth is defiantly wearing one of her trademark regal collared gowns. She was a little peeved that the theme was Marie Antoinette, but I convinced her to come with the promise of endless pink champagne!
Is there a special play list?
After the Noisettes set was over, the playlist was strictly danceable. On repeat? The Twist by The Beatles (a cover, no doubt). Lots of Robyn, The Shangri-Las, Gossip, La Roux, Franz Ferdinand, Little Richard. Appropriately, the soundtrack to Sofia Coppola's Marie Antoinette was played. And yes, there was some Top 40...Katy Perry anyone?
Are there any party favors?
Everyone got a heart shaped wallet with filled bright colored Lime Crime lipstick and gummy worms.
What are the hot topics of the evening?
All the bloggers were, of course, chatting about how great their outfit photos would look by the lake! Everyone couldn't wait to post about the party (especially the dashingly handsome waiters). Florence and La Roux were trading dance moves, and I think Leith asked Queen Elizabeth I where she gets her shoes. I think I heard some mention of Leith getting the secret to ruling England.
Who is the most likely to get drunk and dance on the table?
The teddy girls are most definitely table dancing, and I think I saw one of them sneak into the men's bathroom after James Dean disappeared to fix his lovely pomp. I'm not sure what happened, but I think there was lipstick on his collar when I saw him leaving the party!
Who is the last to leave?
Leith Clark! All the talk of frilly fantasy made her lose track of time. Before we knew it, it was 5 AM and the sun was coming up. Sunrise at an English manor is the perfect setting for an ethereal photoshoot, no?
