Perfectly Persimmon

One of the reasons I love to include gifs (moving pictures) in posts is because the outdoors isn't static. I'm usually being blown around by the wind, getting rained on, or attacked by insects. The other day there were about a dozen snakes sunning themselves everywhere (which was a bit disconcerting). Regardless of what I experience, a picture is a single captured moment and usually full of deceptive serenity. A moving picture shows you the wind or rushing water; a more accurate depiction of a day.

On an entirely different note: I really love a good yellow bag to lug all my "baggage" around in. My loyal mustard yellow purse was beginning to look worse for the wear (fraying stitches and such), so finding this perfectly persimmon bag was basically a match made in heaven. Add to the equation that the bag is made from recycled leather and the drawstrings make it possible to style it in a bucket shape and it really can't be beat.

Age Of Enlightenment

I've been getting more use out of my scanner lately, even if it just being used to scan old editorials to post on my Tumblr. If I have a timeless digital copy of these images I'll feel more comfortable chopping them up into collages and other random creations. This is one of my favorite editorials from the past year; especially the shot of the simple white dress with the overload of gold bangles.

Once In A Blue Moon

These blue and red illustrations by Carine Brancowitz are completely mesmerizing. Her intricate patterns are made even more striking by being penned in pure color. I especially enjoy the attention put into the shoes in many of her pieces.

Girl With The Navy Blue Voice

If I was limited to wearing one color for the rest of my life, it would undoubtedly be blue. It's definitely a color I would like to expand in my wardrobe until I can go weeks without wearing anything else. At the moment shades of navy feel especially fresh and this dress which mixes navy with black is the epitome of what I'm coveting.

Shop My Closet

Once again I'm offering up a few items from my closet for sale here. I'm still not certain what I am doing next year, but I will be moving somewhere this summer. So, in hopes of a lighter load to haul, I am trying to weed through my closet. I will continue to update this as a I convince myself to get rid of more things...

American Rose

If there was one word I would not use to describe my style it is preppy (also androgynous). To be completely honest, the world of pastel polos and khaki pants kills my soul a bit. Yet, the style of this American Beauty Rose dress struck me as classic American prepster, but hopefully with a bit of a twist. Maybe it is just the red and navy combination that always makes me feel (unintentionally) patriotic.
