Meet Me At The Chocolate Factory

As promised, here are some pictures from the little blogger meet-up (with Cecelia, Eunice, and Kam Martin) in Seattle earlier this week. We toured the Theo Chocolate Factory, wore ridiculous hair nets, and went a little picture happy. I had a lot of fun and we all would like to do another Seattle blogger meet-up again.

I wasn't very successful at taking pictures of Kam (all of them ended up being her behind the camera), but I did take a few creeper detail shots of Eunice's outfit. She was wearing some adorable tights and using a great camera bag as a purse.
As the professional of the group, Kam was kind enough to snap outfit shots for both me and Eunice. The whole day gave me an excuse to wear my new H&M sequin leggings. I'm so glad I didn't spend nearly $100 on those Express sequin leggings that were around last year!
these two detail shots taken by Cecelia, thank you!
Outfit details: bow fascinator- vintage, dress- vintage, leggings- H&M, shoes- Bona Drag, bag- Shopruche
If you haven't noticed yet, I'm really into green this fall. Also, these shoes went on sale at Urban Outfitters and I couldn't resist their teardrop charms any longer! Details like the cut outs on the shoes or the scallops on my coat are catching my eye lately.

Outfit details: coat- Tulle via Fred Flare, dress- Forever 21, socks- Thank You Mart, shoes- Urban Outfitters
P.S. I flew to Atlanta, GA yesterday; I'm here to visit my sister for about a week.

Labbit Goes Moo

I just received some very pretty Moo Cards courtesy of Weardrobe; they almost seem too lovely to part with, but handing them out is the reason to have business cards... To show them to you in a slightly interesting format, I made a little celebratory gif featuring my lovely Labbit, Nasha.

Modcloth Blogger Of The Moment

I'm very honored and excited to announce that Modcloth has named me their Blogger Of the Moment. They interviewed me and I made a list of my Modcloth favorites (there are so many!).
One of my honors is having this dress named after me. The malleability of the dress was right up my alley, so I thought it appropriate to do one of my "traditions" and remix it.

Their new handbag section offers purses in every style, in variety of materials (from leather to soda pop-tops), and are made all over the world from the Andes to India.

There's far too many options and styles to possibly choose one for another person, so this giveaway is for one $75 gift certificate to the shop to be spent at the winner's discretion.
To enter: leave a comment below telling me what country you would most like to visit or which you would purchase a purse from. Open to international readers. The winner will be drawn on 10/15/09.
P.S. I truly enjoyed reading all the entries on my last giveaway for the tote bags. The two winners (chosen at random) are: Aimee and Elyse. Congrats to the winners and good luck to everyone entering this giveaway!

Faintly Femme Fatale

Thanks to Weardrobe I have gotten my hands on a sweet Flip Video; so naturally I felt the need to shoot a short, pointless film. It is entirely filmed and edited by me, though I was aided by my trustworthy tripod (so don't expect professionalism). The song is "moonlight sonata" by Beethoven.

I was inspired by film noir, so I dressed darkly glamorous. My coat and tights are from Forever 21, the shoes are Bona Drag, the dress Urban Outfitters, the turtleneck H&M, and the bag and necklace are from Modcloth. I find wearing so much black rather harsh and dramatic, but it was entertaining to dress like a character for a day.

Feeling Literary Part III

There's few things prettier than a full shelf of books. Some will remember part one and two.

A French Connection

I recently made my very first Gilt purchase and I couldn't be happier. This French Connection dress is elegant and classic and purchased at less than 50% of its retail price, I couldn't feel less guilty about it. I do wish I had more places to wear elegant dresses like this. Perhaps that is why I turned my favorite fields into Easter egg colors?
I'm a little addicted to Gilt, but thankfully I spend most of my days merely "window shopping." Since Gilt is an invite-only site, if you would like to get in you can click here and use my invitation code. Don't say I didn't warn you if you get hooked though!

Outfit details: dress- French Connection via Gilt, tights- We Love Colors via swap with Erin, shoes- Urban Outfitters, bracelets- Erica Weiner Jewelry

Rodarte: A Progression?

Some have been applauding the artistry of Rodarte while others bemoan their lack of change. I feel that Rodarte is a study in progression. They return to the same themes, palettes and ideas, but continue to move forward. In a world where trends last a week and the need for the newest and latest drives buyers to unnecessary consumption, isn't there something appealing about a fashion house that has a distinctive idea and perspective that they continue to evaluate? Of course, that is in addition to the beauty and creativity each collection features.
I threw together some collages with images from 4 different seasons of Rodarte; from Fall 2008 to the latest collection Spring 2010.
