If you haven't been able to tell from my random prancing in my pictures, I love ballet. I see the Nutcracker performed every few years and this year I'm visualizing the characters in my favorite designers. Wouldn't the Nutcracker stun in couture? I have left out certain characters for the purpose of brevity.
Wouldn't Clara look sweet in this Viktor and Rolf creation to take her from childhood to adult and back again in one night? And doesn't the Nutcracker seem like this type of guy?As for the Sugarplum fairy she's strictly a Rodarte lady and the toy soldiers could march around in Balenciaga.
The Gypsies celebrate their travels across the world in Dries Van Noten and every one's favorite Arabian princess would choose Alessandro Dell'Acqua.
For the clowns the bold patterns of Christian Lacroix and the snow maidens would sparkle in Chanel. The mice would be menacing in Givenchy and the magician has no costume, he merely is John Galliano.

Catch My Breath
Why do I never seem on top of things? Lately my to-do list is growing a mile long:
Snow Through the Day
It started snowing this morning around eight and hasn't let up since. I have been snapping pictures like the paparazzi hentai (nickname, no lie) that I am. Here's a few that show the snow in the different light that progressed through the day. I looks really lovely right now, like white glitter coating the ground.
Fashion and the Bookworm
I'm a closeted nerd, okay so it's not really closeted. This being the case when I saw these scans for this shoot in Italian Vogue I literally flipped out. Despite the fact it was 3:00am and I had/have class in the morning I was inspired to pay homage by doing my own photo shoot. Since the hall and lounge was pleasantly deserted, it offered the perfect backdrop for my impromptu editorial. What do you think?Thought I would mention this: JCrew is offering 20% off online purchases with coupon code SHHH at checkout through Thursday and must total $175.
Holiday Survival Kit
Everyone has been making gift lists (and wonderful ones too) but what you really need this season is the perfect holiday survival kit. Returning home to your overbearing parents or in laws, young, crazy cousins running amok, not to mention the decorations, questionable fruit cake, and endless list of parties (well I assume some people have parties). Here are a few items that will hopefully sweeten your holiday and help you survive until next year:
Scarf
I tried tying my scarf a different way today to spice up this outfit. I also cut my bangs yesterday, so if they look a little crazy for awhile, that is why. It's a very strange experience cutting your own bangs, eyes sometimes open, other times closed to avoid the sharp scissors and clipped pieces of hair...
Proportions
Rising Stardom
They've gained increasing presence in editorials and commericials. Rose McGowan apparently has two. What am I talking about? Why Boston Terriers, naturally.
Boston Terriers are my favorite type of dog, I am a bit partial considering my family used to have one. They are the type of dog my family terms "so ugly it's cute." The theory is that an ugliness overload (bugging eyes, pushed in face, up pointed ears) eventually becomes cuteness.

What I'm wearing lately:
Still incorporating all my new, very exciting hats. The tan look rather reminds me of an old movie siren playing an army soldier/nurse.

Start of Decemeber Movie Pick
It's still a little early to go into full-on holiday movie mode, though there will be plenty of that before this month is out, so my pick to start your December is the film Kitty Foyle. Starring Ginger Rogers, this film is based on a novel of the same name (which I also recommend). Watch Rogers in a serious role as she plays a hard-working, white-collar girl from Pennsylvania. She is a strong independent woman who falls in love with a young socialite, to the horror of his family. Watch her struggle with social hierarchy, divorce, failed pregnancy and learning to stand on her own two feet. This is a serious film with a great heart and themes beyond the year (1940) it was released in. It won an Oscar and was nominated for four more. Ginger won't sing or dance, but she will still steal your heart.
