In honor of the season I thought I would post some renderings of snowflakes; it will be a weekly (?) series on the deconstruction of a snowflake. The images of snowflakes are so strongly burned into our minds that some work will unintentionally call snowflakes to our mind. Over the next month I will share images that make me recall snow.
While I do not think this was artist
Donna Marcus's intention when she made these sculptures out of aluminum kitchenware the resemblance is uncanny. As an artist, Marcus collects vintage kitchenware, that is: teapots, lids, steamers, deep fryers, cake moulds, etc., to create her work.
